Energy saving devices for the home

A new generation of appliances can help significantly reduce electricity consumption in the home. Of course, it is inconceivable to immediately replace all existing appliances with energy-saving ones, but even the gradual replacement of obsolete or obsolete appliances can help improve home energy consumption parameters.

energy-saving refrigerators

The first energy efficiency devices we look at can save a lot of money by reducing energy consumption at home. After all, these devices work day and night, so it's best to choose them carefully. These are refrigerators. Technological innovations of almost all manufacturers are inverter motors. They are very quiet and allow you to adjust the power consumption of the device, avoiding peak consumption. By keeping the temperature constant and equal, it became possible to optimize energy consumption and increase the efficiency of refrigerators.
Some manufacturers have developed a technology with which you can better store food by differentiating ventilation into different compartments. The release of active oxygen in modern models prevents the formation of bacteria. Energy-saving refrigerators manufactured by the South Korean company, on the other hand, use insulating panels more efficiently. They are much cheaper than the materials used only a few years ago. This means that modern refrigerators have become more energy efficient. More space for food, but less energy consumption for its cooling. Recently, American researchers ranked refrigerators accordingly in the top positions in the ranking of energy savings. These energy-saving devices consume the same as a 20 W lamp. This result was achieved thanks to effective insulation, gaskets, new variable speed compressors and, again, the shape and position of the evaporator and condenser.

The results of other studies conducted in the US may convince even the most indecisive to change the refrigerator. In the 12 years since the purchase of a new model, the reduction in energy costs compared to an older device could be several hundred dollars. The most energy efficient models are those with the refrigerator on top of the refrigerator. At the same time, side-by-side refrigerators have the worst energy efficiency indicators.

Dishwasher

From a technological standpoint, modern dishwashers not only use less energy but also much less water, and adjustable baskets allow you to optimize loads. German manufacturers also use the properties of natural zeolite, a mineral that absorbs moisture during washing and releases it as steam during drying, making the last step of the cycle faster and more efficient.

Washing

Modern washing machines offer differentiated washing cycles to reduce water and detergent consumption. Numerous studies have shown that the cleaning process does not depend on the temperature of the water and detergent used, but is a consequence of the mechanical action of the boiler. In this regard, new solutions have emerged, for example, washing machines developed by the company insert air bubbles into the boiler, which allow the detergent to penetrate better into fabrics and wash well even in cold water.

Induction stoves

Induction hobs are becoming more and more popular, even in the lines of energy saving devices. They cook food by creating an electromagnetic field that heats only the bottom of the cookware. As a result, there is no energy loss. You save money, since the efficiency of these devices reaches 95%, while in conventional gas stoves there are leaks of the order 30-60%.

Vacuum cleaner

How do you convert watts to the useful function of a vacuum cleaner? Not much if the vacuum system is not efficient. The only thing you can tell by looking at the watts on the power label is the power absorption. But what if all this energy is being used inefficiently? New energy saving devices offer good guarantees. Vacuum cleaner models with cyclone technology have the advantage that they do not have dust bags. The suction power remains unchanged, from which the energy efficiency of the apparatus benefits.

Energy efficiency label

Once you are sure that the equipment can help save energy at home, it only remains to choose the right model. There are many offers and it is not that easy to navigate. The first thing you need to do is pay attention to the energy efficiency label, which gives a clear idea of the energy consumption.

The horizontal arrows at the top indicate the energy efficiency class, which can range from A +++ (best) to G (worst). The color of the arrows also indicates the degree of energy efficiency of the device: from red for the high energy consumption classes to dark green for the most energy efficient devices. Arrows indicate energy consumption in kWh per year based on laboratory tests, ie in optimal conditions. Knowing the cost of electricity, you can easily determine the annual cost of electricity, which obviously also depends on how the device is used.
